wxs.us weather app · Effective July 18, 2026

The wxs.us app shows US weather forecasts, alerts, and severe-weather outlooks. It is built to collect as little as possible. This page explains exactly what it collects, why, and what it does not do.

What the app collects

What stays on your device

Your saved places and your unit preference (imperial or metric) are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us. Removing the app removes them.

What the app does not do

Where your data goes

The information above is processed by our own servers in the United States. Weather data itself comes from the National Weather Service and the NOAA Storm Prediction Center, which are public US government sources. All connections between the app and our servers use encryption (HTTPS).

Links out of the app

The app contains links to wxs.us and to thesimpledev.com. Once you follow a link, the destination site's own policies apply.

Children

The app is a general-audience weather tool and is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
